Cancer is the Symptom of Something Much Deeper…by Carol Patterson
Cancer is a disease which touches one in five people. The mysteries of the disease seem to evade even the most well-known oncologists. However, there are alternative cancer cures and holistic cancer cures that are able to rid the “dis-ease” from your body. Cancer can be cured by changing your lifestyle in such a way that you begin to live an “Anti-Cancer” lifestyle. A miracle cancer cure occurs “when you get your mind, body and spirit working in ‘sync’ with one another.”
I have developed an “Anti-Cancer Diet” comprised of cancer fighting foods which can be found on the shelves of the grocery store. All cells regenerate themselves constantly. Some cells die and new cells form. Cancer cells are missing two essential amino acids that normal cells have. When the diseased cancerous cells are fed foods which replenish the missing amino acids, a miracle occurs and the diseased cells morph themselves into healthy cells.
Changing your food is not the only change you need to make. Holistic Cancer Cures deal with the mind and how “Thoughts are things.” Since you have “thought yourself into illness” you can “think yourself into wellness.” This is not an easy concept to grasp at first, but when you take time to consider alternative cancer cures and alternative cancer therapy a new realization happens.
Our minds are quite complex. Research has shown that our minds hide subconscious thoughts that eat away at our bodies daily even as we sleep. It has been proven that outside influences such as a terrible shock, death, or even financial ruin can cause our minds to leave our immune system open to disease, particularly cancer. We are totally unaware of the goings on of the subconscious mind. Holistic Cancer Cures deal with bringing the subconscious threats to our healthy body, mind and spirit to the surface and allow the “destructive subconscious thoughts” to leave the body forever.
A combination of cancer fighting foods and the release of “dis-ease enabling thoughts” can lead to a natural cancer cure.
Before I had cancer I was an international fashion designer with a television show on Home Shopping Network and the Shopping Channel in Canada. I had several businesses and life seemed to be thriving.
I was engaged to be married to my business partner. While on a business trip to China, I tried to call home to my fiance. Call it woman’s intuition, but I had a very bad feeling. My feeling turned out to be justified. I received a call on my cell phone while in China from the Sheriff of my home town telling me that my fiance had died of a heart attack.
That news shook me to the core of my existence after I stopped screaming for hours.
I was an emotional mess filled with a combination of anger, rage and sadness. I hid the truth from family and friends because I wanted to bury him with honor. My prayers for a very happy marriage with family and friends were answered, but not the way I was expecting.
Within two years of my partner’s death, in May of 2007 I was diagnosed with throat cancer. The doctors were perplexed because I was not the typical profile of a person who gets this disease. They could not figure out how I got cancer.
I went to the University of Virginia for Chemotherapy and Radiation cancer treatment. I nearly died from treatments of this type as a cure for cancer. I lost 60 pounds, but the cancer was in remission.
With my immune system down, I contracted a very rare and painful amoeba in my eye that ate the cornea and blood vessels and I had a heart attack. I slowly recovered from both illnesses.
Within two years of the cancer remission, the same exact cancer returned. I kept getting slammed with one illness after another.
The second time I had cancer, the doctors decided to do surgery. They felt that Chemotherapy and Radiation had not worked. This time they would do “salvage surgery” which involved removing a part of my jaw, a part of my throat, a part of tongue, replace my neck artery with an artery from my right hand, take a patch of skin from my left shoulder to make a flap in my throat, insert a tracheotomy, and a stomach tube for the rest of my life.
I refused “salvage surgery”. The name justly fits the procedure. I did not want my face to be disfigured and my voice to be marred.
After long and hard thought, I turned to alternative cancer therapy to find a new cancer cure. I read where the body has extremely wonderful recuperative abilities and the power to heal itself. This is where my cancer journey began.
I was directed to a Naturopathic Doctor and began a regime of herbs and vitamins coupled with fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, and fish.
I began reading everything I could find about miracle cancer cures, healing, alternative cancer cures, self-healing, natural cancer cures, alternative medicine, holistic cancer cures, meditation, visualization techniques and Reiki therapy. Believe me, this was a lot of work. I had stacks of books all over my bedroom. On the other hand, what was my alternative?
I had no choice but to take the road less traveled. I had come to what my intuitive healer calls the “Crossroads” of my healing. I had come to the end of what I would accept from standard medical procedures. After witnessing the death of several friends from cancer and I knew the scenario all too well. I chose quality of life over standard medical procedures.
My journey began with the three top Throat Cancer specialists in the country telling me the same diagnosis. The solution to my cancer problem, “Salvage Surgery” was not an option which I would allow for myself. At the same time, my inner-self was telling me to “go deeper” and “find a way to heal yourself of cancer.” I learned to listen to my “inner-self.”
An intuitive healer helped me to realize the shock of my fiance’s death and related childhood traumas had caused my cancer illness. She helped me to release the fact that I had been betrayed in what was to be a happy marriage time by my most-trusted friend. The intuitive healer showed me how our emotions influence our body, mind, and soul and that I needed to love myself and forget the past. I learned that Cancer is just the symptom of a deep emotional trauma which invades every level of the mind, causing illness. In my case, my emotions had caused cancer.
With the intuitive healer’s vast experience in dealing with cancer patients for over twenty years and her Reiki Training, I was in the hands of an Angel. Her intuition and wisdom surround you when you in her presence. She explained that “Life is like and Onion” peeling one layer at a time.
Release of heavy emotional trauma coupled with feeding the diseased cancer cells foods to supply missing essential amino acids resulted in a healthy mind, body and spirit as well as a cancer cure. I do not have cancer anymore and know in my heart that it will never again return to me.
I had a miracle cancer cure. There were many Angels sent to heal me when conventional medicine had all but given up on me. I hope I can be an Angel sent to other by teaching Holistic Cancer Cures and by sharing my miracle cancer cure experiences. Never forget the Power of God in your healing process.

Carol Patterson is a two-time cancer survivor, an international designer and author who regularly contributes articles and eBooks. Her new book “Cure Your ‘Self’ of Cancer” explains all of the alternative cancer treatments, natural cancer cures and holistic cancer cures which she used to heal her body of cancer.
She has done extensive research for the book and illustrates how cancer is caused one day at a time over many years and can be cured with some consistent simplistic modalities.
The author shows how cancer is the symptom of something much deeper and delves into the subconscious mind and holistic cancer cures in the section of the book entitled “the mind.”
Going to the doctor is not like it used to be. In olden times doctors visits were more personalized and in depth. Now traditional medicine is very impersonal and doctors send you home with up to 5 prescriptions that you need to start taking right away. The only problem is you will return next week because of all the side affects that you have from all the medicine the doctor prescribed you in the first place and your original problem still won’t be solved. Unfortunately, the reason behind all the new prescriptions is because of all the kickbacks that doctors get for prescribing them. Although, these medications don’t help the patients and will undoubtedly cause more symptoms. So many Americans have started looking towards complementary and alternative medicine.
Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is a group of diverse medical practices that are not generally accepted by conventional medicine, conventional medicine being medicine practiced by an M.D., D.O., psychologist, registered nurse, or physical therapist. This group of medicine is continually changing and types of medicine are very broad, however the ultimate goal of this type of medicine is find whole body health and wellness. The principals and guidelines for each individual type of CAM although diverse are based on holistic properties, whereby treating the body as a whole and resolving the underlying problems are far more important in the long run rather than just reducing the symptoms.
CAM involves the connection between the mind and body and not only relieves symptoms but works to resolve the underlying problems as well. Although, used in conjunction with one another, complementary and alternative medicines are two completely different groups of medicine.
Complementary medicine unlike its cohort is used in conjunction with traditional medicine. Therefore the treatment or medicine complements conventional means of resolving pain, disease or illness. Where as alternative medicine, is used in place of conventional medicine to promote self-healing, and preventative medicine.
In the past, CAM was not accepted due to its lack of scientific basis and evidence. However, because many CAM practices are deeply rooted in Eastern history and are based upon traditional medicine, folk knowledge, and spiritual beliefs people are now turning to this type of medicine. Not to mention that patients are seeing and feeling results from CAM. There is no greater influence than someone else’s testimonial, which is causing the rise in CAM. Western medicine, although still hesitant, is just beginning to use some alternative medicines as complements to their conventional methods. Additionally insurances have turned the corner and started allowing several alternative medicines as part of their covered benefits. That’s not to say that CAM is completely accepted by the medical community, it is a long way off. However it has opened the door for new approaches to healing some of which are old ideas with new methods.
Due to the diversity of available CAM’s, it is easier to group them together to understand what type of medicine and treatment is rendered. The categories include natural products, mind-body medicine, and manipulative and body-based practices. Natural products include a variety of herbal medicines, vitamins, minerals and other “natural products”. Products considered natural can include dietary supplementation, herbal or botanical, and probiotics. Mind-body medicine focuses on the connection between the mind and the body to heal and promote health. These practices include meditation, yoga, acupuncture, deep-breathing, guided imagery, hypnotherapy, and tai chi. Lastly manipulative and body-based practices focus on the body systems and their structures. Spinal manipulation from chiropractic care and massage therapy are two commonly used body-based practices.
Before you choose a CAM it is best to research and ask your friends and coworkers for suggestions. It is normal to be nervous or apprehensive because it is not mainstream, however with the popularity and growth that it continues to receive, CAM’s are the next group of conventional medicine.
Breast cancer appears when cell from the breast tissue form a tumor of malign type. Unlike the benign type tumors, the cells of a malign type tumor grow in a way that makes them uncontrollable and life-threatening for the person who has them. Within the malign type of tumors associated there different other categories – mostly depending on where they are located. Two of the most common categories of breast cancer are in situ cancers and the invasive cancers. While in situ cancers are located within the glands for milk production (also called lobules) or the ducts that connect those to the nipple, invasive breast cancers affect not only lobules and ducts in the breast but also the rest of its tissue. Depending on how much an invasive cancer has spread, it can be categorized as a local-stage, regional-stage, or distant-stage. Another major difference between these categories comes from their probability to be cured, which is decreasing from one category to another, starting with in situ having very high chances for patient’s recovery and ending with the distant-stage one as the one with the lowest chances for recovery.
Statistics from the American Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute indicate that almost 25 percent of US women diagnosed with cancer suffer from breast cancer. Additionally, they estimated a number of 207,090 new female cases and 39,840 deaths caused by female breast cancer for 2010. However, looking at the survival rates represents a more optimistic point of view. The numbers increased over time and they are currently estimated to be 89% at five years after diagnosis, 82% after 10 years, and 75% after 15 years.
Since breast cancer is curable in its initial stages, it is crucial for it to be diagnosed as early as possible.
There is a large variety of methods that can be used for breast cancer testing purposes, including biopsy, MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scans, CT (computerized tomography) scans or CAT (computerized axial tomography) scans, blood test, bone scans, mammograms, and ultrasounds. Other breast cancer testing methods that have become more and more commonly used in the recent years include approaches such as the genetic tests. All these have to be accompanied by the opinions and advices of specialized doctors in order to ensure both the adequacy of the diagnosis and the increase of chances for positive responses to prescribed treatment.
Screening is another form of testing that is done without the patient’s having any of the breast cancer symptoms. It can play a crucial role in fighting against a breast cancer because it identifies the disease’s cause in a stage in which the cells form nothing but an abnormal tissue that can be rapidly addressed and can prevent the manifestation of cancer symptoms and the spread of the disease to other tissues and organs. This form of testing is encouraged more and more often and as a preliminary testing, its results are relevant but not conclusive, which is why a positive screening results leads to additional tests being performed.
Breast cancer is an uncontrolled growth of breast cells. To better understand breast cancer, it helps to understand how any cancer can develop.
Cancer occurs as a result of mutations, or abnormal changes, in the genes responsible for regulating the growth of cells and keeping them healthy. The genes are in each cells nucleus, which acts as the control room of each cell. Normally, the cells in our bodies replace themselves through an orderly process of cell growth: healthy new cells take over as old ones die out. But over time, mutations can turn on certain genes and turn off others in a cell. That changed cell gains the ability to keep dividing without control or order, producing more cells just like it and forming a tumor.
What causes breast cancer?
Certain changes in DNA can cause normal breast cells to become cancer. DNA is the chemical in each of our cells that makes up our genes — the instructions for how our cells work. Some inherited DNA changes (mutations) can increase the risk for developing cancer and cause the cancers that run in some families. For instance, BRCA1 and BRCA2 are tumor suppressor genes — they keep cancer tumors from forming. When they are changed (mutated), they no longer cause cells to die at the right time, and cancer is more likely to develop.
But most breast cancer DNA changes happen in single breast cells during a woman’s life rather than having been inherited. So far, the causes of most of the DNA mutations that could lead to breast cancer are not known.
Breast Cancer Prevention:
Cancer prevention though a very ambiguous concept due to their molecular cause of origin, can be achieved through small but effective changes made to lifestyle:
Restricted alcohol consumption
Maintaining a healthy body weight
Inclusion of limited fat in diet
Avoiding unnecessary consumption of antibiotics
Reverting to organic food free of pesticides
In recent years there have been significant advances in the medical world in the battle against breast cancer. There is now a variety of life saving treatments available instead of just two options as in the past. The most common among breast cancer remedies involves surgery, which is followed by radiation, anti-estrogen or hormonal therapy, and/or chemotherapy. This routine can however be overwhelming and have severe side effects.
An important development however has been the rise of complementary medicine. This would include breast cancer remedies like acupuncture, meditation, and yoga. These treatments can significantly aid the healing process, and can reduce or nullify the side effects of conventional medication, which is an understandable cause of concern among most patients.
Apart from complimentary medicine, which works in conjunction with conventional approaches, there are also natural remedies for breast cancer. Most of these use natural methods that are completely free of any side effects. Unfortunately in most cases these remedies for breast cancer are not tested, and the outcome of treating breast cancer with natural remedies is at times uncertain at best. Patients and practitioners alike however claim that the results are positive. Whatever the outcome and irrespective of whether they can cure cancer these methods are definitely beneficial in the fight against breast cancer. Naturopathic clinics have mushroomed all over the world, and many address the needs of breast cancer patients in particular. Most of them employ a similar approach in their treatments and use natural medication like homeopathy, botanical medicine, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, clinical nutrition and lifestyle counselling. Cancer is largely regarded as being caused as a result of autointoxication, stagnation, chemical exposure and congestion, for which reason most of these therapies lay a lot of stress on dietary changes aimed towards detoxification. Supplements of antioxidants and pancreatic enzymes are also recommended quite extensively. New developments and research in alternative medicine are quite promising and a natural remedy for breast cancer should be found soon.
Screening, looking for evidence of disease before signs or symptoms appear, is the solution to discovering breast cancer in its early, treatable stages. Depending on your age and risk factors, screening might consist of breast self-examination, examination by your nurse or doctor, mammograms or other tests.
Breast self-examination is an alternative starting at age 20. By becoming talented at breast self-examination and conversant in the customary appearance and experience of your breasts, you might be able to identify early signs of cancer. Learn how your breasts usually look and feel and observe for changes. If you identify an alteration, punctually bring it to your doctor’s consideration. Have your doctor re-examine your examination method if you’d like input or you have queries.
Breast self examinations engage a visual inspection and physical examination.
A visual examination engages standing in front of a mirror with your arms hanging down and looking at your breasts to test out for puckering, dimpling, alterations in breast size and texture and if your nipples are inverted. The two other positions to test out for these alterations are with your hands on your hips and your hands raised up with your palms pressed together.
The physical examination is to test out for lumps or any alterations in the breast tissue. You could carry out the exam in the shower or lying down on a bed. There are two techniques to do the physical examination, the clock pattern and also the wedge pattern.
A breast examination by a health professional is a significant component of routine physical checkups. You ought to have a clinical exam minimally every three years beginning at age 20 and every year beginning at age 40.
A clinical breast exam might be suggested more often if you have a strong family history of breast cancer.
Breast exams are best done almost immediately after your menstrual period ends, since your breasts will not be as tender and swollen as throughout your period. This makes it easier to identify any uncommon changes. If you have ended menstruating, schedule the annual exam on a day that’s easy for you to keep in mind, like your birth date.
Clinical and breast self-examination are significant techniques of early breast cancer detection and must be completed with mammography. All three of these techniques give comprehensive breast cancer screening.
The Reuters Health magazine has found that cigarette smoke can transform normal breast cells into cancerous cells by blocking their normal ability to repair themselves. Over time this could lead to the development of breast cancer, scientists report.
Smoking cigarettes substantially increases a person’s risk of developing heart disease, as well as cancer of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, esophagus, pancreas, kidney, bladder and uterine cervix. Whether cigarette smoking increases the risk of breast cancer risk remains controversial.
For their research, the Gainesville team used cigarette smoke condensate or tar that contains all of the chemicals present in cigarette smoke, 81 of which have been classified as cancer-causing.
“The use of cigarette smoke condensate…mimics the human smoking situation more closely,” Dr. Satya Narayan told Reuters Health.
Narayan and colleagues found that after treatment with cigarette smoke condensate normal human breast epithelial cells in culture acquire mutations characteristic of malignancy. “The concentration of the condensate we used is much lower than it is present in one cigarette,” Narayan pointed out.
The Gainesville research also pinpoints the mechanism by which cigarette smoke transforms normal breast cells into cancerous cells. Cigarette smoke “causes DNA damage and at the same time compromises the DNA repair capacity of the cell, perhaps, leading to mutation and transformation of targeted breast epithelial cells.”
A DNA repair defect in a single cell that cannot be repaired efficiently before it divides can lead to the genesis of tumors, Narayan said.
When people smoke, they inhale 4,000 different chemicals, which can produce harmful effects in our body, Narayan said. Since the development of cancer is a complex phenomenon and requires several gene mutations during its progression, the defective cell can be present for several years before it acquires tumorigenic activity, the researcher added.
Therefore, the safest way around this is to stay away from cigarettes. “This will protect us from the long-term known and unknown causes of cigarette smoke chemicals on our health,” Narayan said.

It is well known that cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health, all you have to do is to read the warning statement on the side of the packet of cigarettes. The frightening element here is that cigarette smoke has the ability of KILLING you with its negative side-effects. Unfortunately, cigarette smoking is addictive due to its high content in nicotine, a drug-like substance. Even more sad is the fact that most smokers will only find the motivation to stop smoking when their health is already endangered sufficiently that they receive a nasty diagnostic at an advanced stage of a disease.
Breast cancer affects women in their feminity. It has been said that breast cancer is a socially acceptable woman’s way to commit suicide. The statistics tend to confirm the fact that women who contract breast cancer have a psychological profile that reflects deep unhappiness with their current situation, either with their work, their life partner, their lack of children or the overwhelming sense that they cannot cope with all the pressures of our modern lives, where many women are expected to have a full-time job, then arrive home and take on a second one looking after a family. The deep sense of despair depressed the immune system which was then unable to do its regular cleaning job of removing cancer cells which are even present in our body. It focuses instead on the depression, looking for ways to cope with a stressful lifestyle, focusing all its resources on that one situation with no more ‘soldiers’ to divert to fighting cancer. Adding the damage caused by cigarette smoke is the death knoll to women who are not able to change their life situation.
